Iain began his career as an artist signed to Polydor Records, where he and his band released two top 10 singles in 2003. Shortly after the band split, Iain began discovering his talent as a songwriter – having written with the Murlyn music camp and Wayne Hector for his own album project. He continued to develop his writing relationships and shortly signed his first publishing deal with Phrased Differently where he had numerous No.1 and Top 10 cuts in Japan and single releases with Craig David (Warner Bros) and Donnie Klang (Bad Boy US).

In 2009, Iain moved onto Sony ATV, and joined the 365 roster in January 2010 where he quickly became a name to go to for great Pop, R&B and Dance tracks. He placed songs with Lee Ryan (Geffen) and had single releases with Diagram Of The Heart (Deconstruction / Columbia) and Clement Marfo & The Frontline (Warner Bros).
In 2011, Iain’s star rapidly started its ascent when he co-wrote ‘Na Na Na’, the B Side to the debut single by One Direction – which became the biggest pre-ordered single on iTunes for a Sony Music Entertainment artist. Further cuts followed with X Factor 2010 winner Matt Cardle, The Overtones, Kenneth Bager / Aloe Blacc and UK rapper Wretch 32.

His big success stories of 2011 however were the No.1 single he co-wrote, ‘Read All About It’, by Professor Green feat. Emeli Sande, which sold over half a million copies and was at No.1 in the UK for two weeks, and his co-write of Eurovision’s 2011 winning song ‘Running Scared’ by Ell & Nikki. 2012 was also  a stellar year for Iain, which saw ‘Read All About It pt III’ (Emeli Sande’s version of the song) become a Top 3 hit in its own right and being performed 3 times at the London 2012 Olympics Closing Ceremony; and also a No.1 single ‘Wings’ with X Factor 2011 winners Little Mix. Iain had 5 more songs on their UK & US Top 5 debut album including top 3 single ‘DNA’, as well as vocal producing a track for One Direction and writing a number of tracks scheduled for inclusion on the new album by the reunited original line up of Sugababes.

2013 saw Iain sign a new publishing deal with Kobalt Music Group and score 5 songs and the single ‘Little Me’ on the sophomore Little Mix album ‘Salute’, which debuted in the Top 10 UK album Chart and US Billboard Hot 100. Iain also wrote the lead single ‘One More Sleep’ from the Leona Lewis christmas album ‘One More Sleep’ which was a Top 3 UK single. 2014 saw co-writes for new records with established artists James Morrison (Island Records), Olly Murs (Epic) and Little Mix (Syco) for their new albums, vocal production work on the Ellla Henderson album ‘Chapter One’ and new writing relationships with a host of hot new artists including Becky Hill (Parlophone), Josh Record (Virgin/EMI) and Mononoke (Capitol).
2015 has been a busy year so far with co-written single releases by Major Myjah (Warner Bros US), and the debut single by Sinead Harnett ‘She Ain’t Me’ (Virgin/EMI) as well as co-writing forthcoming releases with Fleur East (Syco), Krishane (Atlantic), X Factor 2014 winner Ben Haenow (Syco) and the single ‘Love Me Like You’ by Little Mix (Syco).
