Utada – Fantôme – Japan no.1 for 3 consecutive weeks!

The latest album from 33-year-old Japanese singer-songwriter Hikaru Utada — “Fantôme” — has reached a record by securing holding the No. 1 spot on the Oricon Chart for 24 consecutive days since its release on Sept 28. Furthermore, it is the first time for an original album to hold the No. 1 spot for three consecutive weeks since hitting stores.  Recorded by 365’s Stephen Fitzmaurice and Darren Heelis, “Fantôme”, opened in the U.S second with sales second only to Beyonce and topped world album charts (Billboard). Mixed by Fitzmaurice, the album has now sold 420K physical units making it the 2nd highest selling Japanese album this year.
